He was predeceased by: his parents, William "Pappy" Franklin and Lucille Franklin (Black); and his siblings, Jeanine Tudor Rue Berta (Ennis), Wilfred Allen, Donna Patton (Todd), JoNell Weathers (Wayne), Helen Hendrix and Freddy Franklin.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Mae Franklin; his daughters, Barbara Byers (Josh), Merissa Zuzulock (Andrew) and Jessica "Gus" Covington (Michael); his nephew Kody Franklin; his grandchildren, Cade Byers, Jaekob Byers, Jackston Byers, Jason, Bella and Libby Zuzulock; his great grandchild Jameson Byers; and his sister LaVonda Preuitt (Terry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
