Leona West Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leona West (Fort Sumner, New Mexico), born in Tucumcari, New Mexico, who passed away on June 24, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Clyde Whinnery; her husband James "Jake" West; her brother Clyde Whinnery Jr.; and her sister-in-law Willene Spitz Whinnery. She is survived by: her children, Jana Gray (Bill) of Clovis, David James West of Fort Sumner, Kenneth Lane West of Fort Sumner, Alan Cecil West (Mary Claire) of Fort Sumner and Terry Ross West (Patricia) of Chandler; her siblings, Mary Ann Krieger (Gene) of Houston and Jimmy Whinnery of Big Piney, Wyoming.; her grandchildren, Joslyn Hazard (Patrick) of Grapevine, Ashley Cook (John) of Fort Sumner and Jameson West (Sarah) of Spring; and her great grandchildren, Alexandra West, Khloe West, Gavin Fisher, Ryan Fisher, Isla Bryn Hazard, Sean Hazard and Grant Hazard. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
