With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Cortese of Fort Sumner, New Mexico, born in Hereford, Texas, who passed away on August 26, 2021 at the age of 100. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Adkisson and Lula Adkisson (Boydston); her husband Ralph Cortese; and her sister Dessa Ramsey. She is survived by: her children, Ralph "Buddy" Cortese (Mary Ann) of Fort Sumner, Nick Cortese (Karen) of Fort Sumner and LuAnn Cortese of Albuquerque; her grandchildren, Misty McShanag (Chris) of Glendale, AZ, James "Jay" Cortese (Tara) of Canyon, TX, Sarah Fitzgerald (Jimmie) of Fort Sumner, Elizabeth Autrey (Ryan) of Texico, Ross L. Cortese (Ashley) of Allen, TX and Brett W. Cortese (Nicole Meoli) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.; her great grandchildren, Brady, Kyla, Joshua Cortese, Adalyn, Nathan Autrey, Slate, Della Fitzgerald, Hunter, Caleb, Madison and Heath McShanag; and her grandsons, Ryan Autrey, Jimmie Fitzgerald and Chris McShanag.
