He was predeceased by: his wife Veda May "Sis" Prather; and his siblings, Mildred Corneilson, Margie Laverne Hammon, Pecos Prather, E. C. "Red" Prather and Troy Lee Prather.
He is survived by: his brother Herman David "Tex" Prather of Henrietta, TX; his children, Anita Jane Williamson (Johnny) of Fort Sumner, Louise Petty (Sam Storms) of Tyler, Betty Ann Berry (Mo) of Fort Sumner, Buddy Prather (Bea) of Bovina and Bill Prather of Bootleg; his sister-in-law Delma Prather of Estancia, NM.; and his grandsons, Jim Bob Prather, Pecos Prather, Colt Prather, John Nelson, Larry Williamson, Bobby Williamson, Darrell Bishop and David Bishop. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
