George left this world on October 29, 2024 at the age of 73, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Schlageter and Marion Schlageter; his son John Michael Schlageter; his in-laws, Frank and Delores Hatvany; his nephews, Bobby Moon and Stephen Hatvany; his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Vinca and Susie Schlageter; his nephew-in-law David Hartline; and his brother-in-law Richard Hatvany (Rosemary).
He is survived by: his wife Jacquelyn; his children, Melissa Schlageter and Fred Jackson Schlageter (Kim); his siblings, Jimmy Schlageter (Karen), David Schlageter (Lynn) and Rosa Moon (Bob); and his sister-in-law Marilyn Hatvany.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (314 10th St, Carrizozo, NM 88301). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Fort Stanton State Veteran Cemetery (1398 NM-220, Fort Stanton, NM 88323).
