We are sad to announce that on June 30, 2020, at the age of 96, Melquiades P Barela (Farmington, New Mexico) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Desiderio Barela and Ascension Barela; his wife Esther Lena Carrejo (Consequences); his son Melquiades Jr. Little Mel Barela; and his siblings, Nellie Candelaria and Herman Barela.
He is survived by: his sons, Joseph Barela (Vivian), Albert Barela (Gayle) and Abram 'Abe' Barela (Starla). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Catholic Building Fund at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
