He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Bennett and Elma Bennett; his wife Adah Bennett; his children, James Lee Bennett, Claudine Hockett and Adah Michelle Briggs; his great grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Amy Wilson; and his siblings, Gene, Albert Bennett, Verda Thompson, Audrie Anderson and Mary Lambert.

He is survived by: his daughters, Wanda Bennett and Georgia Wilson (Curtis). He is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren.
