She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Wood and Lucille Wood (Coker) of Albuquerque, NM; and her brothers, Ray Wood of Albuquerque, NM and Jim Wood (Vera) of Albuquerque, NM.. She is survived by: her husband Don Schurter of Elephant Butte, NM; her children, D'Anna Watson and Joe Watson of Katy, TX; her grandchildren, Joe M. Watson, Tech and Matt R. Watson of Katy, TX; and her nieces and nephews, Jim Wood of Bastrop, TX, Cindy Wood of Coeur, Shelly Wood of Florida and Gary Wood of California.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Janyce's name to the Friends of Elephant Butte State Park (P.O. Box 1621, Elephant Butte, NM 87935).
