He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Mowdy and Ruby Mowdy (LeFlore); his former wife Joan Mowdy (Denny); and his siblings, Francis, Milton and Don.
He is survived by: his wife Cindi Mowdy; his brother Ray Mowdy (Rose) of Muskogee, OK; and his children, Sherry (Rick Alexander), Greg Morrison (Shellee) of Greenwood, AR, Arvil Gene Mowdy, Jr. of El Paso, TX, Shawn Mowdy (Kasey) of Ruidoso, NM, Edward Kobel (Jutta) of Ridge Spring, SC and Jessica McKinnon (Kevin) of Clovis, NM. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.
