Sally Ballenger-Wood Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sally Ballenger-Wood of Edgewood, New Mexico, who passed away on September 30, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Irby Ballenger and Mary Lou Ballenger; her sister Nancy Ballenger; and her nephew Darin Duffy. She is survived by: her sister Ruth Duffy; her husband Vern L Wood; her children, Eileen Wood, Vern B. Wood (Marianne Garrity Wood) and Irby Wood (Laura Ross Wood); her grandchildren, Tela (Jesse Schwebach), Hannah, Seth, Grace, Baxter, Cayden and Quincy; and her great grandchildren, Elliott and Esme. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any of the following charitable organizations in Sally's memory: UNM Children's Hospital, UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center, St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
