He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVergne Merrill Sr. and Thelma Sweezie; and his sister Sharon Lee. He is survived by: his wife Martha Merrill; his children, Russel Merrill (Jeanie Hart), Luke Merrill (Tristian) and Samantha Merrill (Harry Jackson); and his sister Vickie Johnston (Jim). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
