He was predeceased by: his father Angel R. Chavez; and his grandparents, Manuel, Elisa Carrasco, Eusebio and Teodora Chavez.
He is survived by: his mother Mary Helen Carrasco-Chavez of Deming; his children, Aaron James Chavez, Nicole Gros (Jaired) of Morenci, AZ, Sara Hunter (Eric) and Kasandra Chavez (Alex Chavez); his sisters, Melissa Chavez of Tucson, AZ and Lorraine Rodriguez (Manny) of Deming; his grandchildren, Deja, Ezra, Anya, Zyla, Joseph, Silas, Vida, Anamayah and Bella; his nephews, Brian Rodriguez (Carmen), Ryan Rodriguez and Marcus Lugo; his niece Samantha Lugo; and his former wives, Dini Estrada and Anna Chavez. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
