It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha Esquivel Gonzales of Deming, New Mexico, who passed away on December 30, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Bertha's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Bertha has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Adolfo Esquivel and Bertha Esquivel; her daughter Genoveva "Veva" Luera; and her grandchildren, Gidget Young, Bertha Andrea Chavez and Juanito Angel.
She is survived by: her children, Manuel Luera (Carmie), Birdie Young (Bobby) and Paula Martinez; and her brother Calletano Guerrero. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Baca's Funeral Chapel (811 S Gold Ave, Deming, NM 88030). A rosary was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (612 S Copper St, Deming, NM 88030). A committal service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery (3410 E Pine St, Deming, NM 88030).
