She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Miles Forkner and Grace Manilla Forkner (Smith); her husband Charles Edward Gatewood; her siblings, Juanita Horn (Tom), Helen Johnson (Bob), Maxine Wiseman (Paul), Billie Miller (Carl) and Milton Dale Forkner; and her son-in-law Greg Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Charles Douglas (Crystal) and Dennis Milton (Terri) of Matthews, NC; and her granddaughter DeAnn Smith of Seneca, MO.. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Derfelt Funeral Home - Columbus (132 E Pine St, Columbus, KS 66725). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
