He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Chapman (Versita Va Padilla) and Juan Chavez Chapman; and his brother David Chapman. He is survived by: his children, Elisa Lafrenz-Chapman (Alison), Richard Chapman (Johnna), Mary Chapman, Meranda Chapman and Nicole Martinez-Romero; his grandchildren, Mariah Chapman and Anjelo Gonzales; and his siblings, Debbie Lopez, Terry Chapman, Diane Chapman, Danny Chapman (Clara) and Delbert Chapman.
