He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro P. Martinez and Manuela Martinez (Cabezuela); his siblings, Manuela Gonzales, Elvira Sanchez, Pedro Martinez and Chindo Martinez; and his great grandchild Christian Samuel Martinez.

He is survived by: his wife Angie Martinez; his children, Sammy "Fatso" Martinez, Jr. (Claudia), Ramiro Martinez (Savannah), Yvonne Granados (Anthony) and Denise Garza (Luis); and his sisters, Lilia Martinez and Gracie Armendariz. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
