It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Candelaria Sandoval of Chimayo, New Mexico, born in Truchas, New Mexico, who passed away on February 1, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Julia Rodriguez and Pula Rodriguez (Adonais Sandoval); her son Johnny R. Sandoval; and her siblings, Tilo Rodriguez, Lala Steele (Jack) and Floriada Rodriguez.
She is survived by: her children, Leonard Sandoval Sr., Julian T. Sandoval (Evelyn), Erlinda Salazar (Ronald) and Lucille Velasquez (Gene); her siblings, Jose Ruben Rodriguez (Concha), Jose Lalo Rodriguez (Amelia), Corcenio Rodriguez (Isabelle), Gilbert Rodriguez (Mary Lou) and Tina Magana (Joseph); her cousin Lenore Trujillo (Chono); her nephew Pula Trujillo; her grandchildren, Lori Sandoval, Leonard Jr. Sandoval (Amanda), Julian Jr. Sandoval (Lorraine), Juan R. Sandoval (Ashley), Matthew, Derrick Velasquez, Julie Salazar and David Salazar (Taylor); her great grandchildren, Joseph "JJ", Alexis, Ashlynn, Leigha, Alexandra, Donovan, Brooklynn and Riley; and her great great grandchildren, Zedekiah, Marty, Amylah, Betty Sandoval, James Vigil and Benito Vigil.
