He is survived by: his wife Leontina Gallegos (Tina); his children, Jóse Abél Gallegos (Angela), Melinda Gallegos and Tina Gallegos-Martínez (Shane Thurston); his brother Martin Gallegos (Cristella); his granddaughters, Hannah Hughes and Lea Pacheco (Ismael); his siblings-in-law, Jóse Ignacio Rivera (Jill), Praxedes Rivera (Patsy), Olivia Rivera and Mary Gallegos; and his great-aunt Rose Naranjo.
