It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verna Mae Burton (Carlsbad, New Mexico), who passed away on December 23, 2019, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Vernon Calloway Eggleston and Vada Moore Eggleston; her children, Mike Tweedy of Carlsbad, Roger Burton of Carlsbad, Timmy Burton of Houston, TX, Carrie Smith of Carlsbad, Bobbie Jo Rodriguez of Simpson, LA and Tammy Slentz of Bradenton, FL; and her siblings, Anita Kennard of Dallas, TX and Kenneth Eggleston of Elizabethtown, KY. She was also cherished by 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
