He is survived by: his children, Sam Montanez of Carlsbad, NM, Selma Montanez of Denver, CO and Susie Canava (Tino Canava) of Denver, CO; his siblings, Ismael "Smiley" Montanez of Albuquerque, NM and Minnie Hensley of Carlsbad, NM; his grandchildren, Dennis, Mikaela, Zackary, Jacob, Kaleb, Isiah and Isaac; and his great grandchildren, Abel, Mila and Barrett.
