He is survived by: his wife Irma; his sister Linda of Michigan; his children, Robert Hathorne of Carlsbad, Cheryl Langley of Illinois, Karen Wilhite of Carlsbad and Stephanie Reese (David) of Carlsbad; and his niece Nettie. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and other extended family.
