He was predeceased by: his parents, Luciana Hernandez (Gonzalez) and Marcos M. Hernandez; his grandchildren, Gabriel Rodriguez and Teresa Ferrel; his great grandchild Joe Ray Valdez; and his brother Marcos Hernandez.
He is survived by: his wife Andrea Hernandez (Porras) of Carlsbad, NM; his children, Brenda Luevano (Porfie) of Artesia, NM, Jessica Ferrel of Denver, CO, Elisa Hernandez of Carlsbad, NM and Robert Hernandez (Carrie) of Carlsbad, NM; his grandchildren, Raul Valdez, Joe Ray Valdez, Sergio Luevano, Coco Segura, Jesse Ferrel (Meredith), Ruben Ferrel, Allysa Ferrel, Ariana Phillips (Antwon), Andrew Hernandez (Summer), Anthony Hernandez (Esther), Ruby Hernandez, Valerie Hernandez, Justin Maxwell and Tristan Maxwell; and his siblings, Connie Ramirez of Santa Ana, CA, Cass Hernandez (Fela) of Carlsbad, NM, Irene Soto of Carlsbad, NM, Nancy Herrera (Capi) of Carlsbad, NM and Martin Hernandez of Carlsbad, NM. He is also survived by twenty-seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
