He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Hughes and Clema Hughes (Owen); his son Brad Hughes; his granddaughter Tamara Ormand; and his brothers, Sammy (Ima Dale) and Woodie (Charlsie).
He is survived by: his wife Verna Hughes; his children, Pam Butler (Danny) of Loraine, Texas and Salty Hughes (Debbie); his sister Mary Beard of Lockwood; and his grandsons, Brian Butler, Clint Hughes, Trent Hughes, Trey Hughes, Joe Cox and Ray Ballard. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
