He was predeceased by: his mother Irene Ornelas Vallejo; his nephews, Charles M. Abernathy and Christopher Sanchez; his aunts, Esperanza Pineda, Cuca Buendia and Ermelinda Lopez; and his uncle Jessie Vallejo, Sr..
He is survived by: his daughter Mercedes Saiz of Carlsbad; his siblings, Corina (Sammy Sanchez), Diane Carrillo, Barbara Abernathy (Rosalio Garcia), Belia (Moises Cabezuela), Luis and Leroy Vallejo; and his aunts and uncles, Jane Vallejo, Connie Roush, Carol Vallejo, Feliciano "Chano" Vallejo and Joe Vallejo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
