He is survived by: his daughters, Nora Avina, Elva Ortiz, Maria Estella Ortiz, Maria Olga Zavala, Maria Lupe Bueno, Tere Ortiz, Ofelia Avina, Juana Lopez and Sylvia Rojo; his brother Concepsion Ortiz; and also, Zacatecas and Mexico. He is also survived by 50 grandchildren and over 125 great-grandchildren.
