He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Calanche and De La Luz Castillo (Rascon); his son Joel Castillo; and his sisters, Clara Ramirez, Mary Olivo and Olga Florez.
He is survived by: his wife Guadalupe Castillo; his children, Jose Castillo, III (Brenda) and Kendra Granado (Justin); his brother Pete "Canano" Castillo; and his grandchildren, Joel, Stormie Castillo and Laurynn Salas.
