It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Patrick Rookstool of Carlsbad, New Mexico, who passed away on October 26, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rookstool and Marianne Rookstool; his stepfather Dave Davis; his brother Jeff Rookstool; and his grandson Josh Austin.
He is survived by: his wife Leigh Rookstool; his children, John Austin, Lee Austin (Shawna), Michael Comer, Karl Finkemeir and Stephanie Austin; his grandchildren, Haylee Austin, Shawn Austin, Gabe Austin, Luke Austin, Madison Madzikatire, Zach Austin, Kyler Rodgers, Kaytlen Rael, Xerxes Niendorf, Makaighiah Finkemeir and Ryker Finkemeir; his great grandchildren, Emersyn, Blaire and Nakai; his brother Jerry Rookstool; his niece Leslie Castillo Rookstool; his nephew Jeremy Rookstool; and his pet Beebee.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel (1001 N Canal St, Carlsbad, NM 88220).
