He is survived by: his children, JoAnn Vela, Billy Joe Sarabia (Sarah), Cindy Jo Salcido (Tony) and Jack Pineda Sarabia; his siblings, Jim Sarabia (Josie), Humito "Ramon" Sarabia, Geronimo Sarabia (Judy), Margarita Purcell and Virginia Carrasco; and his grandchildren, Richard Vela, Jr., Jerome Vela (Tina), Ryshel Vela Navarrette (Matthew), Evangeline Ortiz (Rogelio), Ramon Jose Sarabia (Marie), Pamela Sarabia (Josh), Sabrina Hernandez (Josh), Savannah Sarabia, Masson Sarabia, Anthony Ray Salcido, Andrea Caitlin Salcido, Aaliyah Anchondo, Aracely Romero, Ashley Sarabia, Kody Sarabia, Colombe Sarabia and Mica Sarabia. He is also survived by children, as well as 35 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the West Funeral Home Chapel (401 N Guadalupe St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Santa Catarina Cemetery (1506 Boyd Dr, Carlsbad, NM 88220).
