He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Jefferson Tucker Purcell and Olive Murchison Purcell; his brothers, Conley Purcell and Leroy Purcell; his cousin Lee Voigt; and his friends, George Bryant and Ed Greer (Fisher).
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Purcell of Carlsbad; his children, Sherri Lynn Alverson (Don) of Northport, Alabama and Craig Floyd Purcell of Lubbock; his grandchildren, James Ryan Alverson (Kathy) of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky and Ashley Marie Alverson Green (Chad) of Seaford, Virginia; his great grandchildren, Jillian Edens Alverson, Tucker Lee Alverson, Elliot Ryan Alverson of Ft. Thomas, William Chadwick Green, Jr. (Will) and Margaret Lee Green (Maggie) of Seaford, Virginia; his sister Dorothy Varner of Abilene, Texas; and his cousins, Trish Voigt Towery of Midland and Zolene Voigt Knott of Carlsbad. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
