Hortencia V. Navarrete Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hortencia V. Navarrete of Carlsbad, New Mexico, who passed away on March 27, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Hortencia may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her son-in-law Jerry Montanez. She is survived by: her husband Apolonio Navarrete; her children, Javier Navarrete (Yolanda), Apolonio Jr. (Carla), LeRoy Navarrete, Sandra Montanez and Brenda Dominguez (Rey); and her siblings, Dimas Vasquez, Adan Vasquez and Rosita Gabaldon. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the West Funeral Home Chapel (401 N Guadalupe St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A rosary was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the San Jose Catholic Church (1002 Debaca St, Carlsbad, NM 88220). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Carlsbad Cemetery (1506 Boyd Dr, Carlsbad, NM 88220).
