He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Sosa and Tomasa Sosa (Hernandez); his wife Nazaria Ruiz Sosa; and his siblings, Johnny Sosa, Petra Tovar, Margie Valenzuela, Josie Martinez and Olivia Sosa.
He is survived by: his children, Pauline Olivarez, Gilbert Sosa, Jr. (Sandra), Priscilla Gonzales (Joe), Peggy Mendoza (Thomas), Naomi Smith (Ronald) and Michael Sosa; and his siblings, Ernie, Ruben, David, Joe Sosa, Sally Martinez, Vera Salisbury, Delia Doporto, Velma Lopez and Yolanda Deleon. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.
