He was predeceased by: his wife Lottie Thompson; his son Bruce Thompson, Sr.; his grandson Bruce Thompson, Jr.; and his siblings, Leona Sword, Allene Sword and Leo Thompson.
He is survived by: his daughter Bertha Cassingham (Scott) of Carlsbad, NM; and his grandchildren, Katie Appling, Clint Cassingham, Doña Cassingham, James Thompson and Christina Cooper. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
