He was predeceased by: his parents, Dubert Smith and Irene Smith (Beach); and his sister Duberta Croley. He is survived by: his wife Melody Smith; his children, James M. Smith (Sandy), David Smith and Barbara Alward (Mark); his stepchildren, Rodney Smith, Holly Tyree (Phil) and James E. Smith (Mindy); and his brothers, James Smith (Lorna), Dwight Smith and Tommy Smith (Teri). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
