He was predeceased by: his parents, Ursulo Sapien and Gregoria Sapien (Esquibel); his son Jerry Sapien; his granddaughter Asia Abigail Sapien; and his siblings, Chon, Trini, Nato, Manuel, Telo and Belia.
He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Sapien of Mesa, AZ; his wife Rachel; his grandchildren, Charlie Jasmine Sapien and Mateo Lucius Sapien; his brothers, Vicente Sapien of North Carolina and Jimmy Hensley of Carlsbad; and his godchildren, Jade Brooke Dominguez of Carlsbad, NM, Omari Luna of Loving, NM and Christina Lopez of Colorado Springs, CO..
