He is survived by: his wife The Honorable Collis Gates; his siblings, Jimmy Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Michael Johnson, Tony Johnson of Orangeburg, SC., Mary Denise Rapier, Gloria Johnson and Merceil Bowditch Severn, MD (Calvin); and his sisters-in-law, Livia Godfrey and Vickie Edwards. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
