It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Andrew Nathaniel Chavez of Carlsbad, New Mexico, who passed away on December 28, 2021, at the age of 32, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Fred Rodriquez and Armando Chavez; his godfather David Leos; and his great-grandparents, Lita Leos and Marcela Chavez.
He is survived by: his parents, Ben Chavez of Carlsbad, NM and Yvonne Rodriquez of Carlsbad, NM; his sisters, Caitlin Chavez (Vince Holguin) of Carlsbad, NM and Elena Chavez of Carlsbad, NM; his nephew Francisco Rey Chavez of Carlsbad, NM; his grandmothers, Regina Rodriquez of Carlsbad, NM and Sally Chavez of Carlsbad, NM; his godmother Nadine Briones of Carlsbad, NM; his aunts and uncles, Annette Carrasco, Kris Smith, Ruben Portillo, Annabel Miralda, Lori Potter, Lola Chavez and Fabian Chavez; and his pet Gracie. He is also survived by numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, and extended family.
