He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Rhea and Thomas J. Mahaffey; and his brothers, Ed Mahaffey, Mac Mahaffey and Bill Mahaffey.
He is survived by: his wife Linda F. Mahaffey; his children, Mary Katherine Mahaffey (Scott) of Green River, Wyoming, Thomas Burl Mahaffey of St. Helen's, Gary Darral Mahaffey of Carlsbad, NM, William Ray Mahaffey of Rock Springs and David Allen Mahaffey of Carlsbad, NM; and his sister Dorothy Johnson of Texas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great- great granddaughter.
