He is survived by: his parents, Damacio Chavez and Chonita Montoya Chavez; his spouse Rita Baca; his daughter Andrea Chavez of Capitan; and his siblings, Jake Chavez (Ofelia) of Capitan, Art Chavez (Tonya) of Roswell, Eva Delgado of Tularosa and Lydia Ortiz of Alamogordo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
