She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel R Merchant and Mary M. Adams Merchant; and her siblings, Samuel L Merchant, Elizabeth Merchant Sledge and Ruth Merchant Mattics.

She is survived by: her daughter Sally Carson; and her grandchildren, Stormy Melhaff (Troy), Alisha Jaramillo, Tiffany Gilleland (Adam) and Michael Rino (Misty).
