He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramon Chavez and Rebecca Chavez; his sister Salome Chavez (Solie); his grandson Matthew Ramon Edeal; his son-in-law David Sweeney; and also, Rosalie Barela, Bonifacio Aragon, Rose Gomez, Erlinda Zamora, Esquipula Chavez, Lita Ashbrook, Lorenzo Chavez, Antonio Chavez and Elias Chavez.
He is survived by: his wife Victoria; his daughters, Krystyne Sweeney (David), Mary Esther Chavez Lopez (Ismael) and Roseann Chavez; his grandchildren, Alejandro, Isabella, Paola (Zadrian), Joshua, Elliannah (Kris) and Marina; his great grandchildren, Theodore and Mia; and his siblings, Josie C. Aragon (Joe), Lucy Reeves, Isabel Martin (Chuck) and Louis Chavez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
