He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Berna Lucero; his parents, Manuel Lucero and Amalia Lucero; and his brother Barney Lucero. He is survived by: his sister Lovie; his children, Matthew Lucero, Marie Sanchez and Jeanine Lopez; and his friend Esperfia Mills. He is also survived by many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
