He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy; his daughters, Sharon Hollen and Sandra Upton; his parents, Oliver Upton and Edna Upton; and his brothers, Garland, Elvin and Ray Upton.
He is survived by: his children, Donna McCammon and Steven (Gina Upton); and his sisters, Lavern Couch (Sonny), Lavena Salisbury (Chris), Aletha Ketchell (Paul) and Velma Aaron. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren.
