It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Cornelius Newsom (Artesia, New Mexico), who passed away on December 17, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice (Ford) and C. Newsom, Sr.; and his wife Jewel Dean. He is survived by: his children, Robin Newsom (Beverly) of Artesia and Paula Jenkinson of Colorado; his sister Grace Clanton of Rankin, TX; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Elmore, Shelly Shideler (Jason), Amber Bell (Eric), Kodi Morriss (JD) and Kristopher Newsom. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
