He was predeceased by: his mother Martha Myers; his stepfather Clint Myers; and his birth father Florencio Herrera. He is survived by: his daughters, Dawn and Debbie Herrera; his brothers, Herbert Myers and Richard Myers; and his niece Jenny Bates. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
