He was predeceased by: his father Crecencio Lopez; his brothers, John, Christopher, Ernie, Arthur, Mike, Rick and Frank L. Lopez; his niece Carol; and his nephew Frankie Lopez.

He is survived by: his wife Inez Lopez; his children, Steve Lopez Jr. (Theresa), Rosemary Chavez (Benny) and Jose Lopez (Christina); his mother Rosie Lopez; and his siblings, Irene Torrez (Larry), Marie Garcia (Randy), Lori Griner (Andy), Renee, Aguilar and Barbara Lucero (Allen). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
