Terry Wayne Coker Obituary
The Lord has come and taken Terry home on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He will be greatly missed and was deeply loved by his family and friends.
Terry Enlisted in the US Army out of High School and served in Vietnam. He was awarded 2 Army commendation medals for valor. Terry joined the Gallup Police department after his service to the country where he remained for Ten years. He then moved to Albuquerque to join the Office of the Medical Investigator as a Deputy Medical investigator. He used his many talents and skills to aid in the identification of John and Jane Does providing closure to their families. He retired in 2014 from OMI completing a lifetime of public service. Terry's life was dedicated to the service of his nation, state and community where he touched the lives of countless families and individuals. Terry was a humble man who will be missed by his peers and family both who respected and loved him. His legacy will live on in those who were so fortunate to learn from his countless talents, abilities, fortitude and compassion.
Terry was born April 14, 1951 in Belen, New Mexico. He was married to Janet Montgomery on February 26, 1972 in Gallup, New Mexico.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Darrell and wife, Krishna of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Justin and wife Regina of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Sara Coker, Cataryna Cortez and Xavier Cortez; one brother, Larry and wife Eileen of Clovis, New Mexico, and countless friends, who will always cherish the time and memories shared over the years. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Dan Coker and Joy Foster.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), 4120 Cutler Ave NE. Albuquerque NM 87110, on Friday, March 3rd , 2023 at 10:00am, with Patsy Armijo, officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Rogillio, Donna Goodrich, Bill Morgan, Jack Graham, Jack Montgomery, Jerry Montgomery, James Montgomery, and Mark Kaponen.
