He was predeceased by: his parents, Margarito Romero and Elvira Romero; his wife Felicita Blanche Romero; his daughter C. Esmeralda; and his siblings, Onecimo, Donaciano Romero, Senaida Romero, Martina Lucero and Mary Ortiz.

He is survived by: his children, Carmen Dominguez (David) of Santa Fe, Conchita Fields (Ronald) of Rio Rancho, Santiago Romero Jr. (Donna) of Albuquerque, Paul Romero (Theresa) of Cave Creek and Patrick Romero (Sara Unale) of Bernalillo; his grandchildren, Amy Dominguez, Michelle Gutierrez (Jaime), Margaret Aragon (Jerin), Amara (Sorayah Romero), Chris Dominguez (Melanie), Allen Dominguez (Jessica), Dennis Romero, Daniel (Claudette Romero), Matthew Fields, Lemuel (Johanna Vonhentschel) and James (Martha Chavez); his great grandchildren, Keith, Marisa, Isaiah, Ava, Dominic, Valerie, Angelica, Daniel, Marcos, Fabian, Jorden, Exsavior, Matthew, Olivia and Cameron; his great great grandchild Evelyn; his brother Richard Romero (Marie); and his niece Helen Lucero. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.
