He is survived by: his mother Sarah Sanchez; his wife Anna Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM; his children, Gabriel Ulibarri (Michelle), Cameron Vigil (Taylor), James Sanchez, Paula Sanchez and Ashley Jones (Tyrell); his brothers, Gene Sanchez (Germaine), Joe Sanchez (Bonnie) and Leo Sanchez (Jennie); and his grandchildren, Isaiah Ulibarri, Juliana Ulibarri, Presley Vigil, Xavier Jones, Xachary Jones and Karter Jones.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Samuel's honor to the Albuquerque Fire Department Retiree Association.
