He is survived by: his wife Loretta Sanchez Ortega; his sons, Rudy Ortega Jr. (Lorraine), Randy Ortega (Lorraine Gonzales), Louie Sanchez (Cassie), Ryan Ortega (Danette) and Rembrant Ortega; his sister Tommie Di Bari; and his nieces and nephews, Georgia Jaramillo (Jim), Tito and Frances Taylor. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (309 Stover Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102). A rosary was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery (501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501).
