She was predeceased by: her parents, Goldman L. Middlebrooks and Zannie Mae Middlebrooks; her brothers, G. L., Jerry and J. W. (Bud); and her husbands, Richard E. McAlpin Sr. and Joe Frank Rabun.
She is survived by: her sisters, Belle Dalton and Clarice Lammey (Cres); her sisters-in-law, Beth Middlebrooks of Shreveport and Doris McAlpin of Gulfport, Mississippi.; her children, Richard McAlpin (Rita) and Joanie Thorn (Bob); her grandchildren, Alyssa, April McAlpin, Danielle Hickman and Ian Vandermey; and her great grandchildren, Aubrianna, Gabriel Suriel, Malakai McAlpin, Owen, Piper and Annika Vandermey.
